Mak Muni Mihevc, born
in 2003, began playing the piano at four. In total he has won the first
prize at international competitions seven times and a third place in the senior
category once. His numerous successes were achieved under the mentorship of
prof. Zoltan Peter. At the age of ten Mak performed his first recital featuring
works by Beethoven, Liszt and Chopin. He has also played piano concertos by
Mozart, Grieg, Chopin and Addinsell, both at home and abroad, under the
guidance of conductors Simon Krečič, Simon Perčič, Matjaž Brežnik, Ričardas
Šumila, Günter Neuhold and Jan Miłosz Zarzycky. He has also performed concertos
with the SNG Maribor orchestra (as the closing concert of the Maribor
Festival), and in Litva with the Kaunas Symphony Orchestra. He has had two
performances on New York’s Carnegie Hall winner’s recitals. Mak is currently
studying in Zagreb under the tutelage of renowned pianist, prof. Lovro
Pogorelić. Mak is scholarship holder of Rotary Club Ljubljana-Emona.
