Marina Yashvili - VIOLIN, 6.7.-14.7.2005

Marina Luarsabovna Yashvili is a professor at the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory, a laureate of international competitions (»Jan Kubelik« in Prague, »Henryk Wieniawski« in Poznan and »Queen Elizabeth« in Bruxelles) and a national artist of Georgia. She was born in Tbilisi, where she begun to practice the violin under the guidance of her father, prof. Luarsab Yashvili, and later continued her studies at the Moscow State Conservatory with the famous teacher K. G. Mostras.

Her wide activity as a concert artist in the USSR and abroad begun at the age of seventeen, after winning the Jan Kubelik Competition in Prague. Her repertoire is broad and diverse and includes practically all that has been written for violin, her performance brilliant that cannot be forgotten.

M. Yashvili successfully gives concerts all over the world with famous conductors such as Roberto Benzi, Kurt Mazur, Franz Andre, Yuri Svetlanov, Genadij Rozhdestvensky and others.

For many years she has been one of the most renounced and respected professors at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory.She gives master-classes in Switzerland, France, Spain, Poland and Germany.
