Wolfgang Panhofer - CELLO,6.7. - 14.7.2005

born in Vienna, studied at the University of Music in Vienna as well as at the Royal Northern College of Music (under prof. Ralph KIRSHBAUM). He continued studying with Boris Pergamentschikov,who later became his chambermusic partner, Paul Tortelier, William Pleeth and Andras Schiff.

He won lots of prizes, for example the Sir John Barbirolli prize. He has given concerts as a soloist as well as a chamber musician all over Europe, Asia and the USA (e.g. AT THE CARNEGIE HALL) and played with many orchestras (Vienna Symphony, NTO, Vienna Chamber Orchestra, BBC Symphony under conductors like Franz Welser-Möst), and has made plenty of CD, TV and radio recordings.

He is a welcome guest of many festivals and gives master classes in various countries in Europe, Asia and USA(also for music teachers). He has been a member of jury in many international competitions.
