String Quartet "Accadémia" – Mojca Fortin, violin

Volfand, viola ( Prof. Mile Kosi) in Zoran Bičanin, cello ( Prof. Miloš
Mlejnik) – was formed in the autumn of 2009 in the class of Prof. Tomaž Lorenz.
Since their debut concert in February 2010, they have been regulary preforming
in their country as well as abroad. In February 2010 they successfully
represented the Ljubljana Academy of Music within the framework of the
"Slovenian Month" in Hungary with concerts in Budapest and Békéscsaba.
In April of the same year, the Quartet appeared in front of a Slovenian
audience for the first time with a show in Ljubljana, part of the "Sounds
of the Young" cycle of concerts. In February 2011 they held concerts in
Kranj, Celje, Ljubljana and Koper within the framework of the GM ODER. In
September of the same year they performed within the ''Autumn Serenades'' cycle
in Ljubljana, Preska, Jesenice, Ajdovščina and Dravograd. The Quartet has also
collaborated with the harpist Erika Gričar and the clarinettist Lovro Turin (at
Lent 2011) as well as with the Polish saxophonist Grzech Piotrowski on the
occasion of the Polish presidency of the European Union. In December 2011 the
Quartet Accadémia performed within the framework of the International Music
Youth in Zagreb and Belgrade. The Quartet was a finalist in the competition
"Amici della Musica" in Udine and perfected their knowledge by
participating in the Trio di Parma seminar. They were also recipients of the
"Prešeren award" of the Academy of Music in Ljubljana.
