The young violin player Anja Bukovec is a top-notch musician and a popular media personality. Next to her technical perfection, she excels because of her identifiable style, unique interpretation and communication with the audience. She is a recognizable and valued person, who has perfected the image of cultural ambassador during her schooling in Prague, Köln, Ljubljana and Vienna. She performs as a solo artist and enraptures audiences all over the world. The talented solo artist discloses her view of the world and the happenings around her without reservation, winning at competitions and festivals around the world.  


She was born in Slovenia, where she started to learn violin at the age of six. At the age of thirteen, she continued her schooling at the Music Conservatorium in Prague with Professor Jaroslav Foltyn. Two years later she passed the admittance exam with Professor Igor Ozim, one of the greatest music pedagogues of our time. Under his wing, she continued her studies in Vienna and at the School of Higher Musical Education in Köln where she graduated in 2001. Soon afterwards she completed her post-graduate studies with Professor Vasilij Meljnikov at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana. 

As a solo performer and member of chamber music casts, she appears regularly in Slovenia, Austria, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Serbia, in Croatia and Bohemia, and she also appeared in Romania, England, Australia and in China. 


The year 2007 was a turning point for Anja. The debut album Gemini received an excellent response from the critics and listeners and became the first album of classical music in Slovenia, that landed on top of the music charts. During the concert tour following the publication of the debut album, Anja proved, that carefully selected and thoughtfully presented classical music in her execution can satisfy the widest possible circle of listeners.

It was no different during the sold-out New Year’s Concert in the Union Hall in Ljubljana, where Anja put the dot on the i of a very successful year.  


In 2008 violinist Anja Bukovec toured around the globe in the scope of "World Tour 2008". She gave memorable performances on elite locations in Cairo, Tel Aviv, Madrid, Lisbon, Berlin, Edinburgh, London, Bratislava, Skopje, Sarajevo, Kiev, Ottawa, New York and Washington, released her second CD titled Follow, had the honour to perform for her majesty Queen Elizabeth II. and sold out her new years concert in Ljubljana for the second time in a row.



Igor Vićentić, born in Ljubljana in 1974, as a musician continues his family’s music tradition started by Mirko Polič, composer, conductor and principal of  Opera House in Ljubljana.  

He concluded his studies with honours at Ljubljana’s Academy of Music under the guidance of prof. Aci Bertoncelj. He continued his piano studies attending masterclasses by Jacob Lateiner (Julliard School, NY) and Boris Petrushansky (Academia pianistica, Imola). He has been offered a grant to pursue his studies at Trinity College of Music in London where he successfully obtained Postgraduate Advance Diploma and Masters degree in Performance Practice in 2001.

His concert portfolio includes numerous recitals and chamber music concerts throughout Slovenia, Austria, Italy, Croatia, Spain, Bolgaria, Great Britain and China. As a soloist he performed with Contemporary Music Group (TCM), Orchestra Simfonica Adriatica and Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra.

At the moment he holds a position of a teacher and accompanist at the Conservatory for music and ballet in Ljubljana.

His versatility led him also to other musical genres. As a composer, performer or producer he contributed to various theatre and film soundtracks and took part at projects of major slovenian music groups as Laibach, Terrafolk and Silence. He is a stage partner of a renowned slovene mezzosprano Mirjam Kalin and violinist Anja Bukovec.
