July, 1st 8.30 p.m. St.Martin`s Church: VINTGAR QINTET WITH GUESTS

The Vintgar Quintet proudly continues the 100-year-old singing tradition of the eponymous society from Bled Dobrau. After ten years, it has already achieved a number of competition successes and numerous invitations to interesting events. Its activities are shaped by high-profile concerts in its own direction and in cooperation with eminent names of the Slovenian music scene, such as Prifarski muzikanti, Monika Avsenik, Šmarnogorski quintet, string quintet C'est La Vie and others. The group invites established composers of the younger generation to collaborate with them on a varied range of music in different genres for male voices, such as the first CD released in 2022. The group also raises its profile by producing music videos, which can be viewed on their YouTube channel, such as the latest one, Pri Priosni smo na nas domovino (We are proud of our homeland).

All the singers, but especially their artistic director Luka Černe, who spent ten years gaining experience in the well-known singing group Perpetuum Jazzile, are responsible for their success. In this group he acquired and supplemented his knowledge of various vocal techniques of classical and pop-jazz singing. He also attended seminars where he learnt conducting and other artistic leadership skills such as interpretation of compositions, vocal expressiveness and individual and group placement of performers on stage. These are elements that every singer must master if he or she is to fully achieve the message of the piece he or she is performing on stage.
