Barbara Scheikl

The Austrian artist Barbara Scheikl was born with wool in
her womb. Since childhood, she has been fascinated by wool as a medium because
of its variety of textures and colours. She is magically drawn to different
ways of creating.
For her, working with wool is a meditative process of
regeneration, inspired by the need to dissolve boundaries, look behind the
scenes and connect with others.
Emotionally moving and expressive, her works are made
exclusively with hand crochet techniques, using up to 20 kilometres of wool.
