PIOTR JASIURKOWSKI was born in Lubin (Poland) in 1987.
From 1998 onwards, Piotr Jasiurkowski studied in the violin class of Prof. Robert Szreder at
the Maastricht Academy of Music (The Netherlands). During his studies Piotr received lessons
from V. Repin, H. Krebbers, Y.Kless and A. Suwanai In 2011 he graduated summa cum laude
with a Master’s degree with distinction in Violin Performance. Shortly after the graduation he
was appointed docent of violin at the Maastricht Academy of Music.
Piotr Jasiurkowski has won various prizes at the international competitions. He has
performed as a soloist with orchestras such as: Sinfonia Varsovia, Deutsches Symphonie-
Orchester Berlin, Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, Lithuanian State Symphony
Orchestra, Korean Chamber Ensemble and has given recitals and concerts in Europe (e.g.
Netherlands – Concertgebouw), Asia (e.g. Korea - Great Concert Hall in Seoul Arts Center) and
Africa (e.g. Egipt – Cairo Opera House).
In 2006 he received the Prize of the Minister of the Culture of the Republic of Poland for the
most prominent young artists and in 2007 the highly valid two-year Huygens Scholarship in
the Netherlands, which was extended for another two years in 2009 due to outstanding
achievements. In 2015 Piotr Jasiurkowski was named the Polish person of the year in the
Netherlands in the culture category – Polonus 2015.
Piotr Jasiurkowski plays a "Frans Mortelmans” Jean Babtiste Vuillaume from 1860, which is
kindly loaned by the Dutch National Instrument Foundation (Nationaal Muziekinstrumenten
Fonds).
